GDOL Launches New Program to Reduce Cost Of Unemployment Insurance (UI) program 

ATLANTA—State Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said that the Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) is among 10 states that have launched a new electronic system designed to increase efficiency and reduce costs of operating the state’s unemployment insurance (UI) program.

GDOL provides support for “Empty Wallets” project 
ATLANTA – The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) is providing support for a Middle Georgia College of Cochran community service project aimed at raising public awareness to the number of unemployed workers in Georgia and the nation. 
MGEC (IAWP) Group Citation Award Recipient
The IAWP Group Citation Award is presented to a group of business professionals who, within the preceding calendar year, have made an outstanding contribution to the association, or to employment, unemployment training or related programs.
COBB-CHEROKEE EMPLOYER COMMITTEE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD 
The Cobb-Cherokee Employer Committee annually presents a monetary scholarship to a graduating high school student who has participated in a work-based learning program. The student is selected according to his/her academic grade point average and community involvement 
Gainesville Area Employer Committee Prepares Job Seekers for Job Fair 
The Gainesville Area Employer Committee held a pre-job fair workshop to prepare area job seekers for presenting themselves to employers in a job fair setting. The event was held two weeks before Gainesville’s job fair at the Georgia Mountains Center in March. The goal was to give job seekers the necessary tools to succeed at the job fair.
