DeKalb/Rockdale Bring Christmas Greetings to Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility

On December 20th 2011, The DeKalb Career Center teamed up with ista North America and The DeKalb/Rockdale employer committee to go out and bring a little Holiday cheer to the residents of Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Tucker Georgia.  We were able to present approximately 100 gift bags and Holiday stockings to the residents.

 

DeKalb/Rockdale to form "HOOPS FOR HEALTH"

Gaining inspiration from the Cartersville Employer Committee, the DeKalb/Rockdale Employer Committee has initiated planning for their own "HOOPS FOR HEALTH" Charity Event. In the coming months the committee will organize itself with the intent to raise health awareness about Diabetes and other health issues that are of major concern in the community in which it serves.

 

DeKalb Career Center Sponsor Career Fair

The Georgia Department of Labor along with the Dekalb Workforce Development Team, sponsored a Career Fair at the Manuel J. Maloof Center in downtown Decatur Georgia on September 16th, 2011. Their were approximately thirty employers on hand to service the hundreds of job seekers in attendance.

 

DeKalb March Monthly Meeting

On March 9, 2011, The DeKalb/Rockdale Employer Committee featured Department of Labor's Vocational Rehabilitation during their March Monthly Meeting. Saretha Bradley, unit manager for Voc Rehab explained who they are and how they can help our community employers.
