Wage and Hour Seminar

The Thomas County Employer Committee and the Thomasville Area Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) co-sponsored a Wage & Hour Seminar on June 29, 2010 at Southwest Ga. Technical College. Speaker Warren Williams, with the U.S. Dept. of Labor's Wage & Hour Division, discussed topics on employment law assistance, compliance procedures for FLSA, minimum wage, overtime pay, exemptions, employing youth and record keeping requirements. There were 60 employers in attendance ranging from small to large business owners/representatives including medical facilities, security companies, banks, the YMCA, staffing agencies, nursing homes, manufacturing companies and more. The sponsors received very positive feedback from the group and Mr. Williams presentation was both timely and informative..
