The Union-Towns Employer Committee and the Blairsville-Union County Chamber have join forces in a collaborative effort to serve the citizens of Union-Towns County. The two organizations recently held their combined meeting at the Junior Brackett Community Room United Community Bank. The kick-off meeting was well attended with approximate fifty people in attendance. The meeting was co-chaired by Employer Committee Chairman Joyce Gandy and Chamber of Commerce President Cindy Williams. The attendees heard from Mitch Griggs, Executive Director of the Union County Development Authority. Mr. Griggs spoke about the advantages of having Walmart come to the community. Chairman Gandy announced that the next meeting will be held on June 3, 2008 at Young Harris College and that the guest speaker would be Young Harris College President Cathy Cox.
